thoughts on the city

03Oct09

So, we have been spending time and sharing space with about 8.2 million other folks here in NYC. It has been truly amazing, exhausting and eye opening. We have traveled all over the city  by subway, bike, feet, ariel tram and tomorrow a ferry ride to NJ. Here are a few select pics from our daily jaunts…

There seems to be an extreme abundance of fresh food available at all times in the city.  Sometimes I feel a little deprived of the variety that is here. Good eats all around!

Plenty of Museums in NYC. Arad at MoMA, Gemstones at Natural History, Kandinsky at Guggenheim, modern art at the Met and a panorama of NYC in the Queens Museum.  Many, many miles were walked these past few weeks.

Some of the coolest parks are designed into some tight spaces. This park is quite a few blocks long and is built upon old railroad bridges elevated above the city streets. Very nice indeed.

More to come so stayed tuned.

Just heard this and thought you might find it interesting. Tom Waits on living in NYC: It’s like being on one large crazy ship with the water on fire. We loved our time with you and Kevin and Yoko. Can’t wait to hear about your next adventures!
