Day Trip: Manhattan

June 17 2010

Our first week back to the states was spent in the comfort of our friends Kevin and Yoko’s home in Brooklyn.  We also took the opportunity to go to Manhattan for a day to connect with Bryan’s cousins Peggy and Brian. We also headed to Chelsea to visit one of our favorite parks-The Highline.

The Highline park has lots of nooks to hang out in

A bumblebee happy to find Echinacea in Manhattan!

The Highline is only half done! Here's construction in progress.

Preserving the history of the elevated railroad that once was there, the tracks now intermingle with greenery.

Nice place for a stroll

We stopped by Times Square and watched a World Cup soccer match

We met up with Peggy and Brian for dinner, Brian is taking the photo.

Brian and Bryan on the subway-can you see the resemblance?

Beautiful evening walk after dinner with Peggy and Brian

A couple of days later we packed up our bikes and headed the last 300 miles home.  Final post for our trip is next!
